This is an interesting idea and on the surface looks reasonable and I think could work if you wanted to use the idea to make money by using the affiliate program from https://splitly.com
The video explains how you can advertise to blogs, forums, and Facebook groups which is all fantastic information. This advertising is all done for free.
The resource mentioned in the video is https://www.repricerexpress.com/the-best-ecommerce-forums-for-amazon-sellers/ which are where you can find the top 10 forums that discuss selling on Amazon.
The issue I have with the method of writing, posting, and in a sense talking to people is that you could be lying to people you are talking to and discussing how to sell on AMAZON.
Here is what I mean in the video the commentator suggests to tell the prospect that you use the product and the product Splitly.com works for them even if they don’t have an Amazon account where they sell products from Amazon or if they do sell on Amazon they are not using Splitly.com. To me, that is just straight-up lying and misinformation.
The advantage of the affiliate program is that it gives you 100% of the sale which would be a minimum of $97 all the way up to $497 per customer who buys. Most would opt for the $97 program.
I do find this YouTuber very good by giving you fantastic ideas and content but I like to focus on truth vs fiction (lying).
How he is making money is by promoting his own product on how to make from $0 – $5,000 per month.
Note, he puts a disclaimer in his comments which I give him kudos for letting you know that he makes money from his own products or affiliate products in the links he is promoting, and the disclaimer that it takes work and there are no guarantees for results, plus there is a risk with any business, and you need to do your own due diligence and research. etc.
